"Us" is a dance creation that intertwines the emotional journey of two individuals, following their shared timeline reflecting a diverse range of feelings and complexities. Adding depth to the performance, a second story unfolds through visual arts, creating a parallel narrative that reveals the hidden layers of the dancers' emotions.
Although both duets coexist in the same time and space, they convey distinct nuances of expression. One dance manifests in the physical form, while the other takes an abstract, visual form. Each dancer possesses an individual shadow, a reflection of their inner self, which interacts with and mirrors the choreography. These projected selves not only amplify the dance but also provide viewers with a glimpse into the underlying emotional variations and shades beneath the physicality. While the physical dance portrays the outward appearance, the visual art delves into the dancers' inner drama and private sentiments.
Through this abstraction, shadows, and echoes, the performance illuminates the disparity between external appearances and internal experiences. By leveraging visual arts, the piece artfully captures and conveys the inner dialogues and monologues, while the physical dance focuses solely on outward expressions.
"Us" with its unique blend of dance and visual arts aims to unveil the profound authenticity that dance can embody and project.
